The relationship between natural and man-made environments plays a significant role in the outcomes of my artwork. I want to draw attention to the importance of the hand-made versus the digital and artificial. Recently I have been investigating ideas of ‘utopia’ and thinking about what my ideal city would consist of. I aim to question whether we will ever reach this utopian state of being. I create ambiguous structures- futuristic, primitive, eastern and western. They do not belong to any time or place but instead stand for a universal and timeless human dilemma for progress and change in our continuing quest to reach a perfect society.
